Our second house had an issue with the Neutral wire the day before yesterday. When my dad tested, he learned that the wire on the pole (From the BESCOM box to our fuse) was damaged and that we needed to change that cable.
Although my dad knew what needed to be done, we didn’t have a wooden ladder to reach the BESCOM box, which they kept on an electric pole.
I asked a few neighbours if anyone got a wooden ladder… all said No.
One guided me on where I could get it, but it’s a little far, and we had to bring ourselves. So I took that suggestion as a last option.
While thinking about what I could do to change the cable, I thought of complaining to BESCOM.
Immediately called the Bescom support number (1912) and booked a complaint, saying a spark was coming from the pole. After 2 hours, I got a call from the local BESCOM team asking about the complaint.
I picked up the call and told the same…
They asked a lot of questions before coming here. I also answered them, hiding that it’s my house wire problem.
They reached the spot at 8 PM. Before they reach here, my dad prepared the cable so they can do their task faster.
As soon as they arrive, I requested them - can you please change one of our cables?
They agreed and changed within 10 minutes.
I paid ₹200 before the lineman asked.
Luckily, only two people came in the van, so they took what I gave. If more people came, then I may end up paying more. They left happy. Our job got done at a cheaper price.
I have to do this because we didn’t get a wooden ladder.
I felt happy after getting this job done.
Maybe one day you can use this tip. Who knows.
