One boring task while constructing a house is bringing drinking water cans. Usually, most owner supply water cans by themself.
Some owners clearly tell contractors they don’t supply drinking water or give this responsibility to the contractor labourers themselves.
Both methods have their own pros and cons.
For example, most labourers don’t agree to work on your site if you don’t supply drinking water. In such cases, contractors only send dummy labourers. So you will miss good, talented labourers by this method.
While building our second house, labourers used to scold one site where the owner was not supplying drinking water & tea, so most of them were ready to go there. Labourers share this with us when they come to our site.
If you give this charge to labourers, they will waste their time every time they go to bring water cans.
It’s up to you how you want to go with it.
My brother and I usually bring 20Ltr water cans daily in the evening so when the labourers come the next day, they will have water to drink.
While bringing cans, one thing I hate is holding these 20 Ltr cans is somewhat difficult.
Most 20 Ltr water cannot come up with a handle to easily lift. Today, I was casually looking at this small portable handle that you easily use on any/most 20 ltr water can.
Check out this small tool if you use a 20 Ltr water can to bring water to your construction site or house. Which could help lift and carry a 20 Ltr water can.
I never tried it, so I cannot comment on its usefulness.
