I noticed a house on the train while coming from my hometown to Bangalore. Mostly, it’s a new house…
What they did was they had a single house on the terrace, and in front of the house, they had open space. To cover that space, they installed metal roofing sheets so they get protection from rain and sunlight.
They installed metal roofing sheets like a slope. I guess it’s to look good.
No one can easily stand on those metal roofing sheets. It was that slope.
Like most new house construction users, this owner also made a mistake. This owner placed the 3 solar water heaters on the metal roofing sheets.
It’s too slope. Somehow, with the help of welding or some bolt system, the solar installation team installed it.
The owner doesn’t know what mistake he has made now. Within 3 years, he will realise his mistake when the water was not heating, and he has to schedule a solar tube cleaning service.
I don’t think any technicians will do the tube cleaning service standing on such a slope…
Cleaning the solar tube must be done carefully, or the tube will be damaged. Each tube will cost 1K. With such a slope, technicians cannot stand on those metal roofing sheets, so forget about attending to such service requests.
You might be wondering how on the earth they installed in that place.
Honestly, I’m not sure how they did it. However, they take some risks during installation time but not during service time.
These are the types of mistakes I share in my paid guides… Contractors usually don’t bother guiding owners, and owners don’t know about future problems.
If owners make such a mistake, they will regret it lifelong.
How do I know? We have made some mistakes we couldn’t fix even if we wanted to.
The above owner case is also the same.
The owner could have easily spent more than 40 K on the fabrication work. He made a mistake installing a solar water heater on a slope metal roofing sheets.
How could this owner fix the issue?
One is that he needs to get rid of 3 solar water that he installed. It can easily cost 60K +.
Or He needs to remove the metal roofing sheets, which could also cost 40K +.
What decision could the owner take in such a situation?
In most cases, they will adjust the problem and move on.
In this case, he could avoid servicing until Solar stops providing hot water (5 to 10 years without servicing), or He needs to beg the service provider, pay double payment, and take all the risk while removing tubes.
This is a consequence of not knowing what you are doing or doing it wrong.
I shared multiple such costly mistakes in my paid guides. Where users commonly make during construction time.
