Road and Drainage Work Damages

This week, I went to Tirupati to visit the temple. On the return day, my brother called me and updated road-making work had started in our area.

I immediately opened my mobile and checked our CC Cam to see the progress of the work.

It’s a Good news for me.

We never had Tar Road or a proper Drainage system till now. So, finally, we heard good news. Specially, we need a drainage system. Because till now we have been leaving wastewater at neighbouring sites.

They already asked a few times from different users to stop leaving wastewater on their sites. All of them convinced the owner as we don’t have a drainage system manage like it.

Thankfully, they listened to those words and allowed us for a few years. Now, finally, a proper drainage system is coming into our area.

Isn’t it a happy news? It is.

While this is good news, many of our neighbours were already upset after starting the road work.

The reason? Road work team damaged their Electric Cable and Water Pipeline.

Luckily, my dad saved us from such major damage. Still, our water line got damaged when my dad turned somewhere, and a JCB driver damaged the pipe.

It didn’t cost us much to repair the water line, but all the neighbours whose electric cable got damaged will get a huge repair bill.

Once the cable gets damaged, changing the complete cable is recommended, not just joining the new cable to the old one.

The cable, labour and alteration required in the existing house will cost much more.

Anywhere from 15,000rs to 1,00,000 rs depending on the building, cable length etc.,

A few neighbours praised how we planned our electric cable laying and how my dad prevented getting our cable damaged.

My dad also suggested a tip to prevent the electric cable from getting damaged to our opposite site owner. They thought of saving ₹1,000 and instantly damaged their cable right before my dad’s and owner’s eyes.

They immediately regretted their decision of not following my dad’s suggestion. Now they were praising my dad with all the neighbours. Because of them not listening to that suggestion, they will spend anywhere close to ₹20,000 to 30,000 on repair work.

I didn’t give importance to the cable laying and planning before. Now I see the importance of this, and I’m gonna write a guide and add it to the member’s area. How do it right way.

I will share updates about this work in the next few days.
