Plumbing Alteration Work Costed Us 37496 Rs

This is the amount we spent only after properly optimizing the work so we get the work done at the best price. That means we didn’t directly give a contract to our plumber to fix it. If we gave like that, our cost could easily cross 50K+.

That’s the budget we kept aside when we started this work.

We knew it would cost a lot more if we used our plumbing labourers to do all these tasks. Because our plumbers usually don’t charge based on labour charges…

He usually charges for the problems they are solving. This means it will cost a lot if we give him full contract work.

So, Instead, what we did is… we called our Plumber. Told them about the problem. Asked his suggestion to solve it.

The plumber came and guided the solution. We told him we would use our labourers (building contractor labour) and call you to do the final work.

He said ok.

We used building contractor labourers to break tiles, remove concrete, dig till the piping was visible, and do a few other works. By doing this way, we pay based on labour usage instead of value-based pricing. This helps in saving. Once all the work was done again, we called our plumber to make the necessary pipeline alteration work.

He came and did pipeline alteration work. This work took half a day.

All work is done.

Combing all the plumbing work he did for this alteration work, which included - 1-hour consultation and 5 hours of pipeline alteration work. So let’s consider it took him 1 day to work. All the work is done by himself without any help.

He came another day for payment. We asked him how much. The plumber told me 15,000 rs.

It’s just one day of work for him, so we were expecting a little less.

We used this plumber for our first and second buildings, so we usually don’t ask for prices for small tasks. Moreover, he is a good guy.

After discussing and bargaining with him, we paid him 5,000 rs, which was worth it.

After taking payment, he informed us that if you gave the same contract work to any other plumber, they wouldn’t touch this work for less than 45,000 rs.

Remember, this is just for plumbing work, he said. This work also includes Tiles laying and other manual work, which they don’t usually do. That’s an extra cost we have to pay.

So, using specialists only to do skilled work can actually save money.
