My Tile Contractor Stopped Picking Up Calls

When all the pipeline alteration work was over, we tried calling our tiles contractor to come and do the tiles work.

He picked up the call the first two times, then stopped responding to the calls once he knew some repair work was there.

We tried reaching him continuously for 1 week… same response.

We confirmed he was not interested in our repair work, so we started looking for another contractor.

The thing is, most of the contractors are not interested in doing repair work. Because it’s boring & time-consuming.

Now finding another tiles guy is quite challenging. Enquired our other contractors if they know anyone… all said I will ask and let you know.

Meanwhile, we went to the Tiles shop to see if we could get our old tile design. We didn’t get the old one, but got a similar colour. Which is ok for us.

We also asked if they had any tile labourers who do small repair work. Luckily, the tile shop owner arranged for a guy to do our tile work. The tile guy came and saw the spot and agreed to do the tile laying work.

Finding labourers for repair work is difficult. After waiting almost 1 week, we started looking for an alternative guy and found someone who does the job.

This problem happens even when you are constructing a house, and the current contractor has left your work half finished.

At that time, finding an alternative contractor was also very difficult.

No one easily agrees to continue the half-finished work, thinking the old contractor could give trouble while working.

To prevent such issues from your old contractor, have some points in agreement to take care of them if they left a half-finished job in the middle.

My paint contractor left the contract in the middle once, so all my agreement templates include a few points on handling such situations if the contractor leaves the job half finished.
